Sam Wenger drives optimization and excellence throughout On’s supply chain and business processes in his role as Chief Operating Officer.
Sam joined On in 2017 as Head of Corporate Finance and Business Development before becoming Director of Finance and Operations in North America in 2019, growing the brand’s presence in the region. Starting in 2020, he oversaw On's E-Commerce and Own Retail sales channels globally in his role as General Manager of Direct-to-Consumer. He became Deputy CFO in 2023 before transitioning into his current role in 2024.
Sam’s career began in consulting, first working full-time during his university breaks on the Assurance Financial Services team at PwC. Then, he spent almost six years at McKinsey & Co. rising from Fellow Associate to Engagement Manager. Based first in Zurich then New York City, his work focused on advising retail and pharmaceutical companies from Europe, US, Middle East and Africa on a range of topics that included digital manufacturing, supply chain optimization, purchasing excellence and strategy.
Sam holds an MBA with distinction from Columbia Business School, an MSc with distinction from the London School of Economics, and bachelor’s in economics from the University of Zurich. A former Ironman and triathlete, with a first-place finish at Ironman Arizona 2019, Sam continues to run and bike every day. Outside of work and sport, he loves spending time with his wife and kids, as well as exploring music through the piano and drums.
