Florian Maag steers On’s financial strategy and fuels its continued growth as Deputy Chief Financial Officer, with a focus on global financial planning, corporate finance, and investor relations.
Since joining On in 2019, Florian has played a key role in the company’s rapid international expansion and financial transformation. As Head of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations, he led the company’s capital markets and investor relations activities – driving multiple funding rounds and serving as deal captain for On’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021, including the build-out of the company’s investor engagement platform. Starting in 2022, Florian served as Regional CFO for EMEA before being named Deputy CFO in 2023.
Earlier in his career, Florian built a strong foundation in finance spanning investment banking and corporate strategy. As Vice President of Group Mergers & Acquisitions at Sulzer from 2015 to 2019, he played a key role in expanding the company’s global portfolio of industrial engineering and manufacturing businesses. Prior, Florian spent five years at UBS, rising to Director as he advised clients across Europe on M&A and capital market transactions. This expanded upon his experience as an Associate at Bank Sal. Oppenheim from 2008 to 2010.
Florian holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Zurich. Outside of work, he is a proud father of three young children and passionate about spending time with his family. He’s an avid ice hockey enthusiast and a fan of just about any sport involving a ball.
